This weekend I'm gaffing for a shoot with CG fireworks. I was wondering if anyone had some tips on simulating light from the fireworks onto onlookers. Thanks!

Depends on how wide and how much money you want to spend-- maybe some of those club-style DMX controlled RGB LED Par cans programmed to flash colors on them then slowly fade down.
