Hey everyone,

I'm a film student working as a cinematographer on a student project. We will be shooting on an Arri Alexa, most likely with CP2's.

We have a scene which involves two characters driving to a forest at night. As this is a student project we're trying to keep our budget as low as possible. Naturally a low rider would be the logical option, but as we're trying to keep our budget right down, I figure I'd exhaust every cheaper option first.

I own a 5D Mark III and I'm wondering if some sort of stabilized rig which could be mounted to the external of the vehicle exists, and if it does, can it yield good/very good results?

This is an avenue I'd like to explore before we look into a low rider and throwing Alexa's around in the wind.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Suction cup mount should work and give you  some versatility.  They can be rented.  Be certain to safety the came to a point external to whatever rig you use to mount the camera.
