Looking for sharpest zoom lens possible on the cheap to work with a6000

I have the Sony a6000 kit with the two lenses (E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 and E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3)

 

I like the camera but the 16-50mm seems a bit soft and it is hard to dial in at maximum sharpness because you have to stay within 1 micrometer it seems to set it there.

 

What would be the best lens to get (or adapt with adapter) if I am open to buying used and am willing to spend $500? I had thought about a used SEL18200 but is that the best way to go? Any help would be appreciated.

I still say the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 is the best value at $419. It's parfocal, and pretty sharp across the entire range. I believe they even make it in a Sony E-Mount, though if not you can get a cheap adapter for it from EF-S or F.

 

It's the lens I use with my GH4, and have had no problems with it.
