Hello everyone,

I've been experimenting with the virtual cameras in after effects on a web series that I've created using character animator. Each episode uses different lenses, distances between the background, subject, and camera, angles, and I've even played with zooms and tracking shots. I'd love to hear if you have any suggestions on other ways I can play with virtual cameras and lighting to create some different looks. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a lot of it figured out so far. Just keep playing around with different angles and effects until you find what you like. Cool videos by the way.

Thank you Landon! I think the next step will be playing more with lighting, although it might not work well with a 2d subject.

How familiar are you with After Effects? Do you know how to split 2D layers into 3D space? Doing this, you can create a lot of neat 2.5d effects, and use lighting and other things such as depth of field, fog, particles, etc.

I'm interested in learning more about splitting layers, but I am concerned that, from what I've heard about it, it might be too time consuming for Gibby. We're also toying with the idea of making a 3d puppet for character animator.
