Yea, BUT that's been happening since the very first optical printer. It's just, people don't pay attention to older movies and see the punch-in's. Studio's use to control all of that stuff, even leaving directors on the sidelines.
Personally, if I'm a hired cinematographer, I'd absolutely fight for the framing, but it wouldn't be much of a fight. Most of those changes are made in the coloring suite, so the DP SHOULD be present for them and plead his case. |
