Hi All--

I came across what I believe is a '60s MC-17 Unimotor for Bolex cams.  Can anyone sort me out as to its operation?

It's much smaller than other Bolex motors I've seen.  It looks as if the drive-shaft fits neatly into the backwind slot and then a small screw in the camera body must be removed in order to attach the lower part of the motor.  Is this somehow related to speed control?  If there is no speed adjust, how is the motor operated?  There are no buttons or switches on the unit, just a two-pin power cable.

From what I understand these fit Bolex 8mm cams as well-- unless there were two versions?

Many thanks for any tips!  I haven't been able to discover the answers online.

I have one. It's almost the same one as in this manual: http://www.marriottc...th_pictures.htm

So there's supposed to be a lever of some kind beneath the motor? {described as (e) in the linked info you provided}  My unit doesn't have one.  Am I missing something?

Thanks for your reply!
