I would say this looks like fuji is replacing its whole super f line one film at a time.

I think this is great news, I still have doubts they can beat kodak's vision 2 technology but more choices certainly is a good thing.

Of course the prices Ive seen for fuji's eterna 500 are a tad more expensive tahn the superF making the cost advantage of fuji a little less.

For example ,I qouted one place as offering $27 per factory 100ft roll of super f400 ,$29.50 per 100ft for eterna 500 and $33 for vision 2. Not much difference between the eterna and the kodak.

I'm sure the new stocks are competitive with Kodak's -- the main problem is just that they've only replaced two of the stocks. In terms of the 64D stock, it's not so much of an issue since that is so fine-grained anyway, but right now, I bet the new 500 ASA stock is finer-grained than their 250 ASA stocks, or the same, so it doesn't make much sense to use the old 250 ASA stocks now. However, I'm a big fan of 250D stocks for day interiors so I hope they update that one next.

Kodak is not resting on its laurels. Lots of R&D on additional new VISION2 films. B)

I just had not heard mention of it anywhere else.

I wasnt critisizing anyone Tim...Just curious if anyone was excited about these new stocks.Thats all.

Wow John, based on what I've seen done with vision 2...I can't wait to see what's next from kodak. I'm sure it will be definitely good news for 16mm users!
