Seems that 15mm is not a size easily available in either aluminium tube stock - 16mm OD is the closest; or in stainless - where 15.88mm OD is the closest. This information is from specialists who deal only in these metals. I have some Mitchell rods that are over by a fraction. I have a Petroff mattebox that doesn't fit them. I don't have a micrometer or vernier calipers to measure them. So, are 15mm rods actually 15mm dia or is it just a nominal value?

I've found them to be 15mm +0/-.01mm typically.

I'm afraid of petroff stuff though. I've used many petroff rigs as scrap for other projects.

Hi,

Maclean Quality Composites used to have a priceless overstock section where you could get carbon fibre tubing in all kinds of diameters, including 15mm. Have a look at www.macqc.com
