Hi,
I'm about to buy a miniDV cam, (either Sony VX2100 or Pan DVX100A), and a doubt struck me just now.

I've got a good computer, and I want to edit my DV films on it in order to record DVDs. If I buy something like this, will I be able to plug the cam into my cpu?

Should I buy something more, like a special software, or the cam and this thing will work?

I know the question is kind of naive, I'm sorry...

Hi,

First off, this isn't really the right forum for that kind of question - you're likely to get better answers over on dv.com or on creativecow. Secondly, yeah, that's a firewire interface board, although many even slightly modern PCs have similar ports built in. What you want to do for software is such a wide question that really you should ask elsewhere giving more details on exactly what you want to achieve.
