How important is a Phantom Tech on set?

Are they mostly utilized in the RAW to proxy conversion process?

Phantom Tech is usefull to operate a Phantom. As it is not a normal camera, with the end trigger and the buffer time you have for the shot. the camera operate with a software, PCC. Pretty usefull to look at pixel values too. The offload can be done with 2 different software, one for mac and one for PC. If you plan on shooting something with a Phantom and have never operate it, I strongly suggest you hire a Phantom Tech

RAW to proxy conversion of files can be done in resolve like any other formats. .Cine are big files though.
