Production does not want to pay to get an octocopter to fly our mini for one shot, so they've asked me to figure out a more economical way. Does anyone have any experience cutting drone footage with Alexa mini and liking the results? Resolution is not the most important thing, exposure latitude and overall filmic look are the priority. I want to match the aesthetic beauty of the Alexa without the price... I know you get what you pay for in this town, but I was considering getting a drone and using the Sony As7 II.

Thoughts?

Inspire 2 with XS5 would be my bet filming RAW.

Yep, I've cut in Inspire 2 footage in 5K with lots of Alexa and Red jobs. Last was for a car commercial. Works like a charm.

Andrew this was shot on the mini/phantom 4. I'm unsure if it will help but could at least provide a point of reference. The drone is in between the two jet shots, around 00:05 - 00:06:
