I have a few hundred to blow on more lighting heads. As of right now, what I own is as follows:

1 Arri 650

1 M-R 1K

2 Genaray 500 bi-color LEDs

1 Sola 4 LED (looking to sell if interested)

The majority of my shoots are close-quarters indoors. I used to constantly run with LED but have been slowly migrating to tungsten.

Should I pick up another 1k? Or perhaps a couple smaller 200w heads? I feel like there is always a piece to the puzzle missing which I end up compensating for mid-shoot, then forgetting.

Any input is welcomed.

Thank you.

I personally use 300w fresnel units very often and also the 650's. also lots of 2kw fresnels (which can sometimes replace small hmi's in low budget shoots if you have enough power to run them). if shooting with fast lenses and high ISO it might be better to add some smaller units and especially something which can do very narrow spot if needed. like 100 or 150w dedolights type units. if you need softer tungsten light you can also consider open face units with chimeras or for bouncing, though for bouncing the tungsten fresnels can be a bit easier by my experience even if they waste some light compared to open face.

maybe another 650w fresnel and a 300w fresnel next?
