Running older cameras of a VCLX

Hi there,

 

I am currently trying to bring an Eclair ACL up to production standard for an upcoming project, and building up the correct gear. Problem is, while I love onboard batteries, I love having a VCLX battery ready to use.

That said I have seen horror stories of BL3s racing because the current isn't going through correctly (this one had the cinetools base).

Is there any danger of just making a cable that goes through the 12 volt?
