I wonder if Kodak would service the Special II again? It only runs for 4 winds as there is a screw missing and things move past the hole then it stops running.
Does anyone know somebody who fixes Specials?

Considering that the Cine Special II is a 50 year old camera, my guess is that its warranty has long ago expired. Kodak is no longer in the movie camera business.

Your best bet is to find a working one (maybe an eBay auction) and find the differences between that one and yours. But any repair shop will charge you more than the camera is worth to fix it, so you'll have to do it yourself. That may not be a terrible thing; I've disassembled and fixed broken Filmo cameras before, and now I know I can fix one if I need to.

Thanks Robert,
There is a service manual copy on sale on eBay for $35!!! That's pretty steep for one screw missing. Yea, every now and then one comes up for sale.
As it is now, the CineSpecialII camera, it can be used hand cranked or for single frame animation. I used it for animation and processed the short strips in a Jobo tank. After shooting a hundred or so drawings, I'd wind it up tight again. The 4 wind limit was never even gotten close to.

Anybody have a extra Special II???
