Hi folks

Anyone heading to Vegas in the next few days? If you see a tall, ugly guy wandering around wearing a badge with my name on it, chances are it's me.

Would you be available for selfies next to some C-Stands?

I would actually hedge someone just stole your badge after murdering you. This is America after all!

Wish I could've made it to NAB let us know what we miss.

At immigration it usually says something like "Welcome to the United States. We shoot to kill."

There used to be a section asking if there was any insanity in your family.. presumably a prerequisite for entry..

Sadly, won't be making it to NAB this year. Too busy with series development right now. Went last year with a friend and it was a blast, though!

Looks like Blackmagic is at it again though. Interested to see the 4k Pocket, although it'll have to be priced right - and have a bigger sensor than the HD pocket.

In other news, I'll be in England in September.  If you see an ugly American guy attempting to drive on the wrong side of the road --- chances are its me.

Last time I renewed my visa, one of the questions was: "Are you planning to visit the US for the purposes of committing genocide?"

I wonder if anyone has ever answered "Yes".

I like the question "Were you a member of the National Socialist German Worker's party between 1922 and 1945?"

Yes obviously a rather clever trick question.. !.. The Japanese Permanent Residents re entry visa,(you have to fill in/ show at the airport) used to have a box asking" reason for return ".. seemingly besides the reason that you lived there permanently..!!  ever the welcoming nation !

I'm an American and I don't understand our gun laws --- so you're in good company.

But I also believe that its widely blown out of proportion. You have a better chance that your plane with crash on the way here AND getting struck by lighting at the same time than you do of getting shot in America.

I'll be there! I went last year and enjoyed it very much! If you see a guy wandering around in a giant camera costume shaped like an Alexa mini, that's me.  :D

On monday I'll be looking for a Zeiss LWZ2. I want to check it out because I think it's the lens I'm going to buy if I like it. last year I was looking for the Alura 18-80. I found it and geez it's beautiful. Slightly too expensive for me though. Anyway, I like seeing all the latest stuff and am looking forward to a lot of things. See ya all there!

Wish I could go! But USA Is a bit far for me :-/ Will be following the news closely anyway.

I put online my long rambling pre-NAB thoughts, together with a couple of friends of mine:
