Looking to find info on the AJ900 - basically the father or grandfather to the SDX900 out there today. Theres a guy who's convinced that it shoots 30P and 60P, but I keep thinking that he means 60i but he always reassures me that it shoots 60p. Can anyone put this question to rest?

Yes, it shot 480/60P but was hard to post -- most people bumped the footage up to 1080/60i.

Nowadays if you want to shoot 60P, you'd use the Panasonic Varicam.

I beleive it got used on one of the olympic games. My question is with that camera can you record progressive and play it back on a normal dvcpro vtr? Since they are alot cheaper now on ebay than a the sdx 900. I know its not 24p but it could be progressive with a really nice lens for half the price of a sdx 900.
