Looking to find info on the AJ900 - basically the father or grandfather to the SDX900 out there today. Theres a guy who's convinced that it shoots 30P and 60P, but I keep thinking that he means 60i but he always reassures me that it shoots 60p. Can anyone put this question to rest?

Yes it does shoot 60p but you have to have a certain model panasonice dvcpro50 vtr to play it.

Yes, it shot 480/60P but was hard to post -- most people bumped the footage up to 1080/60i.

Nowadays if you want to shoot 60P, you'd use the Panasonic Varicam.

I beleive it got used on one of the olympic games. My question is with that camera can you record progressive and play it back on a normal dvcpro vtr? Since they are alot cheaper now on ebay than a the sdx 900. I know its not 24p but it could be progressive with a really nice lens for half the price of a sdx 900.
