Hi,

There's an outside chance I may soon be shooting a two-day short, and possibly some other stuff, with a P2 camera. I don't know which one. Panasonic seem to have a certain hale devotion to ensuring that P2 is usable only by very big TV stations who are willing to buy all of Panasonic's editing equipment, so they record video to the PCMCIA cards in MXF format. MXF is not readable by common editors (I think FCP support is upcoming.)

I would hate to have to advise the production not to use P2 on this basis. I presume Panasonic have converter tools to render MXF to some saner, combined-AV format?

Ms. Crittenden?

Phil

PS - Free is good.
