anyone know anything about the "limited edition" dvd box? The one that comes with cards, a poster and a frame from a print.

On amazon it says that the release date is 2000l. There is also a version of the DVD with release in 2004. (doesn't come with any "material" extras)
And of course there is the old 1997 release.

So. Anyone have any one of those two? (2000 box set and 2004 version)

What I want to know is this:
Are these all the same 1997 transfer? Or was the film retransfered anytime since 1997?

Which frint frame do you get with the limited edition? OR does everyone get a different frame?

thanks

The same one with those shaky lines on the right edge and black areas all around the image?

How was that mastered anyway? From a letterboxed betacam SP or something?
It sure looks like it.

by the way, if you own it, can you tell me which frame you got with it?

Its in storage somewhere but i think it was a frame from the scene where Deckard tests Rachael with the Voight Kampf machine.

I've only got the Limited Edition, which is pretty cool. I can't quite remember which frame I got, but the DVD is a two sided Disc: widescreen on one side, pan and scan the other.

I've looked at both sides and the quality is pretty good, definitely as good as the version I've seen on cable lately. No lines on my Disc.

The BR DVD stinks. The best 'available' video version is a HD transfer shown on TV in Japan, with Japanese subtitles burnt in. :-) Some fans have it on D-VHS tape.

Hi,

The UK rental and retail discs of BR are terrible; get the Region 2 Japanese disc, which is fine.
