Hey. I'm preparing to make a short shot on a Canon Zoom 518 and a Canon 310XL. I know how to work the basic functions of these cameras, but since I don't have the manual I'm not sure how to do anything else. Does anyone know if you can manually control the exposure or are you just stuck with what the automatic gives you? Also, does anyone know where I could get an online manual for these cameras for free? I found some places for like $20, but I don't want to spend that.

I dont know if you got an answer to your questions yet maybe you haven't had to spend money you didn't want. But theres a website www.onsuper8.org thats
very help down on the left hand side of the screen its a section called the Suer 8 list and it was either or another link off the web page w/ pic of camera and how to operate them (its a great general overview so get you camera out and go over it as you look at this online manual.)

Hope this helps

your stuck with auto exposure only with the canon 310xl, but you can over expose the auto by 2 stops by lifting that red thing up above the lite sensor, or if you use a 0.3 ND filter you can over expose the auto by one stop. No manual exp on the 310xl.
