Alright, for my senior project I sadly have to go DV. I love it, it's simple and great, but not good for a few things. One of the scenes I have is in slow motion. the only way to make slow motion with a DV camera is to slow it down in Final cut Pro. All this does is spaces the frames out and fades them together. That looks horrible if it's for more than 1 shot. Is there any way I can actually speed up the recording fram rate? I know i can't with a DV. Are there any other cameras I can use? I think if I used an old, old camera with low quality I could pull it off as "artistic". Anyone have an idea?

I can't really answer this the way you want but, I would encourage you to try your cam at the highest shutter speed you can effectively use. It'll look much more convincing when you slow it down later in FC. Even if its a cheaper cam without adjustable shutter speeds it'll probably have some AE effects that will automatically adjust them. Those particular AE effects are generally called something like, "Sports". You'll need a lot of light on your subject to use those higher shutter speeds though.
