Hi everybody.
First of all, I've never shot on neither one of them. So i'm basically moved by the literature generated by kodak and by opinions of co-workers and DP who i've worked with. the project will be shot on 16mm and all the basic filters are at hand. (SRII)

The Situation of the Shoot:
shot under bright sun, possibly hard sun light, if the weather helps, overcast day. I'm not counting with it. The subject is a old white woman. the look i'm going for is the overexposed look, low color saturation and pastel colors yet a bit contrasted. never loosing texture and detail.

No DI will be used.

The stock i'm going for now is the 200t 7217, but friends keep suggesting the 7205, but the skin tones of it and the specral sensitivuty of it keep turning me towards the 7217.

Any of you guys ever used the 250D/200t under these conditions trying to achieve this look?
How does it render skin tones when one/or half stops is overexposed? which would be the perfect overexposure regarding reflected spot readings of the woman's face?
Do you think that 200T exposed as 125 (due to 85) has the speed that i need?
do you think that any developing procedure would help? maybe pulling one stop?
Any thing that you guys think that i should consider, please help !!!

Hi,

1 stop over, when measured with a spotmeter is a good starting point for a caucasian skin.

As for speed the 200T with an 85 filter will give you about T22 in full sunlight at 24 fps and T8-11 when its cloudy!

Mabe use 7212 with an 85, and save the extra lab cost of 'pull 1 stop'

do a test if you can... sounds like what you are after may be Bleach Bypass. The only way to know how to achieve what you want with the stock that you are using is simply to shoot that stock and get to know its characteristics. Check out bleach bypass though as it may give you a look that may suit what you are looking it, keep in mind that it is not perfectly predictable so always shoot tests... before every show... no matter how many times you have shot that particular stock before.

For a lower contrast, lower saturation "look", consider Kodak VISION2 Expression 500T Color Negative Film 7229:

But for finer grain, if you have the light outdoors, 7245 with a pull-1 process or a contrast reducing filter could work very well to give the "look" you want.
