Which is preferable a camera with a true 16x9 chip or a 16x9 Lens adapter on a 4x3 camera ? Is there a big difference ?

thanks

That's kind of a wide open question. Usually I would prefer a 16:9 chip, but if you are comparing a 1/4" 16:9 chip in something like the Sony PDX-10 to using a 16:9 converter on a 1/3" chip camera like the DVX-100, I would go with the camera with the bigger chip and the converter. Just my opinion.

Agree with Tim. And often a 16:9 wide adapter will give you limitations both in f-stop and focus areas.
