Good evening,
Do you know if a Clip on Matte box can be use in the Hawks Anamorphic primes?
Do we need a special size of reduction ring? Can we use the one for Arri Ultra primes?
I'm a producer, will be shooting next week in Santiago de Chile and my knowledge on Anamorphics is none. It's Sunday, a national holiday there, today and tomorrow and I can't get a hold of the AC.
Thank you in advance. Any light on the subject will be very much appreciate.

You should talk to Peter Martin or Boris Latman at Vantagefilm, the manufacturer of Hawk anamorphics.

Also note that there are two series, Hawk Compacts and Hawk V-Series, which are much larger and heavier. And even within a series, I doubt they all have the same front element diameter. You probably need to be specific as to which Hawks you need to put a clip-on mattebox on, probably the wider-angles ones you plan on handholding, for example. I mean, you're not planning on shooting the whole movie with clip-on matteboxes, are you?

You can put an LMB4 on all the lenses. The front diameter is identical from 50mm to 135mm.
