I want to do a series of film tests for my own information on the different 16mm stocks Kodak is making. To save money, since this is on my dime, I was planning on just using 100' daylight spools. But I will be using an Arriflex 16SR as the camera. Are there any issues with using daylight spools with this camera? I have only used 400' cored rolls with it in the past.

Thanks,
-Tim

I never tried that but I honestly don't think there should be any problem... It would be even easier to load than a Bolex or a k3

Thanks Laurent,

What I am concerned about is the metal spools in the magazines, scratching up that black light absorbing paint or causing some other type of issue.

No problem at all, just remove the spacer that fits inside cores and it'll take daylight spools.

If you are shooting sound they are noisy, that's all.
