Synching Sound with the BL2

Hi, very new to 35 and synching sound with film. I will be recording a sound synched conversation being fillmed with the bl2. Do I hook the dat player to the camera???? Probably not, but I'm just wondering

With all due respect, I think you should perhaps get a sound man on board before you embark on spending the considerable amount needed for shooting in 35mm.

Normally, you sync sound and picture in editing by the means of a slate or clapper board. The camera and sound device all run at exact speeds individually and don't need to be synced together other than visually. Unless your BL2 isn't crystal controlled, that is. Then you're stuck since the camera doesn't run at an exact speed and the image will drift from the audio, making a long conversation impossible to keep in sync.
