What's the smoothest paintable material for outdoor
chroma key use? Needs to be somewhat rigid,
something like linoleum.

Any suggestions? It will be glued flat to plywood.

Would linoleum work? Paint the backside of it?

thanks

Try 1/4" masonite, AKA "hardboard." It comes in 4x8' sheets, so no plywood needed unless you're making a very large frame. You'll have seams of course, which can be taped and painted over.

But really, it's usually cheaper and easier to just rent a large green screen and frame (chroma paint is not cheap). Are you making a floor for actors to stand on?

actually it will be on the side of a building for inserting footage in which talent walks past,
Kind of like the small billboards behind home plate in MLB games. it really just needs
to be about 4x8 and no seams will be visable, they will be covered with other elements.

just looking for something solid and smooth to paint on, not worried about the price.

thanks
