I have a lot of artistic and technical interest in cinematography. I have degrees in arts and science and work in publishing in an office in Brisbane.
In my teens and early twenties I made many movies in Super 8, Standard 8, and a few in 16mm. In years 11 and 12 I studied film and tv and was top of my class, and was chosen to write, direct and also shoot a 25 minute sound theatrical film. My movie was a popular success to large audiences at my school. On leaving school I chose not to go to the AFTRS but instead followed other career interests.
I'm interested in all aspects of quality theatrical film production. I like writing scripts and synopses and have some good ideas for feature movies. I'm currently getting back into filmmaking and my first projects will be music videos.
I believe very strongly that a healthy motion picture industry needs both 35mm and digital production capability. Film will always be the gold standard because it is a more artistic medium. It is like the difference between an oil painting and an acrylic; or a woodcut and a digital version of a woodcut - both have their place but I know which I prefer.
