Roman Neugebauer Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Heyhey, for an upcoming short I am looking for an effective way to set up streetlights in an area without streetlights. They shall be part of the background and motivate lighting on foreground. Has anybody ever done this? What fixtures would you use? Thanks!
Brian Drysdale Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 You could check out lighting units that plant hire companies provide to live events & construction sites. These have telescopic stands, some have generators built in. You could try using the cranked up stands used for HMIs etc, and mount smaller lights on them. Just be aware that wind can blow over these stands over unless weighed down by sandbags etc.
Doyle Smith Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 (edited) IDK... I used to use Mighty Moles or Ianiro Blondes ratchet strapped to phone poles with ASA 400 stock. Maybe a 1K would suffice now. Made a nice contrast to 1/2 blue "moonlight" from Condors or Musco's. If you're on a low budge you could probably run them off a hidden Honda 7K inverter generator without having to cable the whole street. Edited June 25, 2024 by Doyle Smith
Premium Member Adrian Sierkowski Posted June 25, 2024 Premium Member Posted June 25, 2024 Something like a Redhead or a Blonde or a 1K Nook is what I usually will reach for, if power is not an issue and you're running distro. On the LED side it would depend on how you can get it up there, but ideally you'd want something with an internal ballast, maybe a Vortex 4 with the dome diffusion
