Bhaskar Parimala Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Hi I want to know how we can create a Long Exposure effect in videos. I saw several videos in movies, but not able to produce those. some articles saying its possible with Adobe after effects or time lapse video created by series of photos. Is it not possible directly with video? Please answer to my questions Thanks in advance
Brian Drysdale Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Some video cameras allow you to shoot exposure times of less than a second. I suspect for even longer exposures using the still mode in a DSLR would be the way to go and import them as a series of images.
Zac Fettig Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) I think Brian means "greater than a second." I suppose you could just shoot hours of video then compress it (only use every 10,000th frame) or something. But a camera with an intervalometer is your best bet. Edited October 4, 2013 by Zac Fettig
Mark Dunn Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Do you mean long exposure or timelapse? You've just been given two conflicting answers.
Brian Drysdale Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I mean an exposure time on each frame of greater than a second. Of course, you also have to decide how often you take each frame, so there could be an element of time lapse.
